You've settled into your new "home away from home", and it's time to start thinking about your plans for next year. We enjoy having you and hope that you choose to renew your lease and stay with us! We have put together answers for some common questions to help you with the process. If you need further clarification, please contact us at the office and we will be happy to help!
Can I request different roommates?
We want you to be comfortable here, and we will do everything we can to accommodate your roommate requests.
What is a "renewal?"
Are you loving it here and can't imagine leaving at the end of your lease? By signing a renewal, you get to extend your stay at Evergreen Commons!
If I renew, do I have to move out then move back in?
If you have a lease ending in July, you will not have to move out. Your new lease will begin as soon as your old lease ends. If you have a lease ending in May, you will need to move out and then back in again in August.
If I renew, will my guarantor have to sign again?
Yes. You and your guarantor will need to go through the same application and leasing process again.
I'm graduating in December, can I still renew?
You can! We have an extremely limited amount of fall semester leases available. Contact the office for more information!
When can I renew my lease?
Leasing for 2019-2020 will open to current residents on Monday, October 22, 2018.
How do I renew?
Visit our website and click on 'Lease Online'. Choose your floor plan and lease type and begin your application. Once your application is approved, an online lease will be sent to you to sign. At the end of the lease, you will be asked to enter your parent/guardian's name and email address. They will then receive an email asking them to apply to be your guarantor. Once their application is approved, they will be sent their portion of the lease to sign. At this point, the Evergreen staff will sign off on the lease to make it fully executed.
When do I start paying the new rent amount?
If you have a lease ending in July, you will start paying your new rent amount on August 1st. If you have a lease ending in May, you will need to pay your first installment of your new lease by July 15th.
